Description
A delightful clockwise perambulation which savours much of the ambiance of this attractive archetypal Lakeland village. Footbridges cross the River Rothay lead to the Church and Gingerbread House. Sam Reid’s Bookshop and Heaton Cooper’s Studio are passed to gain the road rising to Wordsworth’s former home, Allan Bank. Descent to the Easedale Road and a rounding of Butterlip How continues to White Bridge before a traverse of the park heads back to the car park and ancient rock carvings.
