given to the long shoulder rising from Ambleside. The summit, and it’s distinctive cove of red screes, stands just to the east of the Kirkstone Pass. To reach the top, altitude 776m, only involves 323m of ascent from the Kirkstone Inn – highest Inn in the Lake District. On the summit will be found a mountain tarn and magnificent views.

TIME: 1.75 hours.
DIFFICULTY: Difficult with strenuous ascent (330m) and descent.
