Begin in Little Langdale and cross the Ford Bridge to find the Greenburn track and a climb onto Birks Fell. The Wetherlam Edge leads to Wetherlam before a drop and slog up the Prison Band opens up the rest of the horseshoe Swirl How and Carrs. Descent of Wet Side Edge falls to a footbridge after which the Greenburn track is regained.
