Description
This easy route makes an anticlockwise circuit around the illusive Blelham Tarn. Although the tarn can’t be visited and can only be seen from a few location en-route the walk provides a worthy exploration, with fine views to the higher fells, of the farms, meadows and woods around the Vale of Hawkshead and village of Wray.
LENGTH: 8.75 km.
TIME: 3 hours.
DIFFICULTY: Easy, though long and with 200m of ascent.
START & FINISH: Hawkshead Village large car park (353 981).
MAPS: OS L96 or OL7.
HOSTELRIES: Outgate Inn en-route, numerous in Hawkshead.
