Bowfell is the highest of the mountains above The Langdales – a much prized summit. This circular walk passes through Stool End Farm and climbs The Band to Three Tarns col before ascending the final rocky shoulder to the summit knoll. After continuation across the shoulder descent is made to Ore Gap and down to the Esk Hause track by Angle Tarn. Rossett Gill zigzags lead down to Mickleden and a flat track returns to the start.
