STICKLE TARN BY MILL GILL AND THE HORSE MEADOW

£3.50

Fed by Bright Beck, Stickle Tarn occupies a little mountain basin below the great cliff of Pavey Ark. This route crosses behind Millbeck Farm to follow the ‘outgang’ onto the fell before a zigzag path climbs the west (true right) bank of Mill Gill to the walled horse meadow. The grass path above provides a splendid view over the tarn before descent from the dam takes the stone steps beneath Tarn Crag down to the regular Stickle Ghyll route.
