Description
Seen from the centre of Little Langdale Village, whimsically punctuated with trees along its crest, Holme Fell forms the knobbly southern skyline. This walk takes you on a journey deep through the oakwoods and up out onto the crest to reveal a panoramic view that covers the full range of Central Fells – including Helvellyn and Fairfield, plus Lingmoor and the High Langdale Fells beyond, and the king and queen of the Southern Fells – Coniston Old Man and Wetherlam. Look out over Yew Tree Tarn, Coniston Water and the Holme Fell Tarns before descent leads past the huge gaping hole of Hodge Close Quarry to return once again into the woods. (2.2mb) 15 Pages.
