DODD WOOD, BASSENTHWAITE LAKE AND ST BEGA’S

Description

A fascinating anticlockwise round leads through Dodd Wood and over the fell known as Watches before descent leads to a crossing of the meadows to gain the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake. Scenic return via Scarness Bay, Broadness, Bowness Bay and over the meadows to the ancient site of St Bega’s Church ends by walking passed the grand house and gardens of Mirehouse.
