Description
Rising from the olde worlde streets of Bowness, passing St Martin’s Church which dates from 1483, this circular route ascends via the Brantfell Road and the beech trees and viewpoint of Post Knott to the sublime little top of Brant Fell. The view over the upper half of Lake Windermere to the Lakeland fells, particularly The Fairfield Horseshoe, is magnificent. Pleasant return is made by first heading east and then west across wooded meadows back to the head of the Brantfell Road.
