CASTLERIGG STONE CIRCLE TO TEWET TARN

£3.50

Stunningly situated amongst the fells Castlerigg Stone Circle is arguably the most impressive in Cumbria. Tewet is an old name for a Peewit/Lapwing/Green Plover. After visiting the circle this walk makes an anticlockwise round crossing the Naddle Valley before rising to the low shoulder of Naddle Fell. From here descent leads to St John’s Church and is followed by a traverse over Low Naddle Fell to Tewet Tarn. A quiet road section gains the fields below Goosewell Farm and slight ascent joins the circle.
