Making a clockwise circuit rising to pass Moss Eccles and Wise Een Tarn to explore the now conifer clad Claife Heights, the high shoulder standing between the west shore of Windermere Lake and The Vale of Hawkshead, this a voyage of discovery. Before entering the dark pervasive conifers there are open views over Wise Een Tarn to the Langdale Pikes and thereafter from the heights of High Blind How and the promontory of Low Pate Crags.LENGTH: 8km.

TIME: 3 hours.
DIFFICULTY: Difficult, though mainly on good tracks and paths there is a little rough going with 300m of ascent.
START & FINISH: Far Sawrey Village Hall (379 954).
MAPS: OS L96 or OL7.       
HOSTELRIES: Cuckoo Brow Inn by starting point.
