Nestling amidst an area of  exquisite beauty, one known and celebrated worldwide for it’s association with William Wordsworth  and the Lake Poets, this walk makes a reasonably gentle anticlockwise perambulation of Rydal Water. With a fine aspect over Rydal it first rises to Loughrigg Terrace before  traversing to Rydal Caves. It then drops  to Rydal village to rise once again to follow the Coffin Road. Finally it  crosses White Moss Common Fell with a magnificent view to both Rydal Water and Grasmere lake.

LENGTH: 6km.
TIME: 2¾ hours.
DIFFICULTY:  Easy with slight ascent (140m) and descent.
START & FINISH:. White Moss Common car parks (348066).

HOSTELRIES: Joseph’s Ice Cream Van at White Moss Common. The Badger Bar and The Old School Room Tea Shop (Rydal Hall) all in Rydal at the half way point.
