Description
At the end of Borrowdale the northern head of Derwentwater opens to Keswick and the Northern Fells to stunning effect. Savouring the myriad tree fringed delights of the lake, and exploring the countryside beyond, this clockwise round rising to Walla Crag offers a wonderful panorama of the surrounding fells. Somewhere there may be a prettier lake than Derwentwater, with its jewelled expanse fringed by oakwoods, crag and fell, though after this walk you could be forgiven for seriously doubting it.
