ASHNESS FELL AND HIGH SEAT

£3.50

Passing just above the picturesque Ashness Bridge this walk leads from the closed wooded world of Borrowdale to make steep ascent to the open and heather clad heights which define it’s eastern rim. The rocky summits of High Seat and Man reveal the powerful presence of the massive Dodds and Helvellyn which, when clad in winter snows, seem take on Alpine proportion. On return the descent by the shoulder of Ashness Fell presents awesome views over Derwentwater.
