Description
Running between Borrowdale and Buttermere, set deep in the North Western Fells, the Newlands Valley was once the hub of extensive mining activity. Today, remote from the more popular tourist centres, it is now a haven of calm and quiet. This clockwise route, traversing it’s three heads and crossing the body of the valley to pass through Little Town the fabled home of Mrs Tiggy-Winkle, savours much of it’s rich and magical mountain atmosphere.
